About the client & their idea

While on a Dubai business trip for conferencing and networking in 2021, our technology consultant got acquainted with the future CEO of Sakani, Karim Alam, and his sister Nicole.

Being a local, Karim recognized the flaws of existing real estate platforms in Dubai: a sole focus on property inventory, agents lacking transparency, and fake listings. Karim knew his team could create a competitive alternative to existing real estate tools. He shared the ideas about how to digitally empower Dubaians by letting them make smarter renting and buying decisions. And we started off.

Solution

We have assembled an engineering team and developed a web platform that creatively depicts Dubai’s real estate landscape using data visualization and imagery so users can study a community before they decide to buy or rent any property.

When navigating the platform’s tools, a user can check a community’s profile, look through up-to-date listings of real estate offers, browse images, compare sales data and rental ROI, and apply filters to set desirable parameters. Based on filters, the system’s algorithm determines the two most appropriate properties to consider.

Properties

Through this module, users can see a complete list of properties available for purchase or rent and find a matching real estate offer by setting their preferences: furnished/unfurnished, beachfront, private garden, shared gym, and more.

Communities

This page shows an interactive map of communities in Dubai with accommodation for rent or purchase. A user can set their preference in categories like Vibrancy, Sports, Healthcare, Parks, Education, and Entertainment by grading them from not important to very important and the platform will find the top two communities.

Comparison

Based on a user’s preferences, the platform’s algorithm evaluates the two most appropriate communities. It then presents the evaluation report with a suitability percentage, aligning with the user's stated preferences. Evaluations are based on price per year, walk factor, nearest metro, and community infrastructure.

Property profile

A profile includes a property’s location and images, the yearly rental cost or the purchase price, and a detailed description with property details, amenities, and neighborhood information. Through a profile, users can get the contact information of the property agency to proceed.

Heat map

An interactive red-yellow-green map that reflects the search results for more targeted analysis. A heat map allows users to simultaneously score clusters of communities and properties from high to medium to low priority.
