Fully digital platform for women’s reproductive health
Achievements of prio.one
In 2021, Hamburg-based healthtech startup prio.one (the brand in front of HTV) decided to build a future where female health and well-being would be the number one priority. Having assembled a diverse team of digital and pharmaceutical experts, gynecologists and other doctors, data scientists, and software developers at four international locations, they started working on a women-oriented healthcare system, combining modern technology with gynecological expertise backed up by certified doctors and licensed EU mail-order pharmacies.
Along with their focus on female health, the prio.one team aimed to reinvent how Europeans receive healthcare and essential medicine. So they created the first integrated, fully digital platform for women’s reproductive health in Europe.
The holistic prio.one telehealth platform excludes the need for doctor or pharmacy follow-up visits and substitutes them with a fully digital experience that spans consultation, diagnosis, and fulfillment. What started as a few patients a month has turned into thousands of patients a month using an integrated patient journey.
The prio.one team was looking for a full-stack team who would be responsible for designing, coding, and fulfilling the team’s strategy and meeting users’ expectations. While screening candidates, both the client’s in-house team and our dedicated recruiters put technical skills at the forefront while keeping in mind that women would be the users of the digital platform. Consequently, hiring a female team would not only bring in tech expertise but also spark more women-oriented approaches, which is gold in the health world.
After a few rounds of interviews, we helped prio.one onboard a team that matched their specific request. Now, this team is developing a digital platform focused on female healthcare needs. The online service has its own admin panel for doctors and a customer support system. The tailor-made order processing system is integrated with the Shopify platform and local pharmacies.
To start placing orders and have them delivered right to their doorstep, users fill out a medical questionnaire, choose one of the offered hormonal methods of birth control, and proceed to checkout. Medications are then sent directly to the user’s address, avoiding a visit to the pharmacy or doctor’s office.
