Lua is a social discovery app powered by an AI-driven matching engine designed to foster meaningful connections. Unlike traditional swipe-based dating platforms, Lua focuses on deeper compatibility through personality insights, shared interests, and thoughtful conversations. The AI dating app supports all relationship types — including binary, non-binary, and bisexual — and aims to become a digital soul hub for dating, friendships, and authentic human connection.

Project challenges

In terms of dating app development services, the main challenge was to move beyond superficial swipe culture and build a system that matches users based on personality traits and interests rather than profile photos alone. The team also needed to create an inclusive platform tailored to non-binary dating, addressing gaps often overlooked by mainstream apps. In between matches, Lua shares valuable tips from leading experts in the sphere of personal growth and relationship. The app helps not just to connect and find soulmates but also to learn more about yourself.
Sparks
Users stay anonymous and can’t see each other’s pics during their first chat until they both feel a spark and decide to reveal their identities. From there, users can choose to journey together in the light.
Avatars
Users can hide their outer shells behind animal avatars representing their inner personalities. Lua lets users change avatars based on mood and inner feelings.
Connect deeply
Lua helps users find an ideal match through a set of deep and playful questions designed by leaders in personal growth and relationship. Users get to know their special someone before they reveal their profiles.

Based on user preferences, Lua finds a perfect match anonymously. No filters and swiping – Lua does all the magic and finds an ideal soulmate without any superficial stuff.
